How to read the number you just got

The range is a scale check, not a verdict. It answers one question: is the amount you have in mind roughly consistent with the size of your business, or an order of magnitude away from it? That is genuinely useful before a conversation, and it is all a revenue-based estimate can honestly do.

What the calculator cannot see is the rest of underwriting: your margin, existing debt service, customer concentration, trading history, and what the money is actually for. A business with modest revenue and an obvious, productive use of funds often supports more than a larger business with an unclear plan.

So use it to set expectations, then spend your effort on the parts that move the outcome—clean records and a clear use of funds. The financial health check walks through exactly those.

Questions & answers

Calculator questions

What this tool does, and what it deliberately does not do.

Does using the calculator affect my credit score?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, asks for no personal information, and performs no credit check. It is a planning tool, not an application.

How is the indicative range worked out?

It uses a simple relationship between annual revenue and typical facility sizing to give you a sense of scale. Real underwriting looks at far more—margin, existing obligations, trading history, use of funds—so treat the output as a starting point for a conversation, not a decision.

What should I do if the range looks lower than I need?

Two things usually move the number: a clearer, productive use of funds, and better documentation. It is also worth asking whether a revolving line is the right instrument at all—equipment or asset-backed structures can support larger amounts when the money is buying something durable.

Can the calculator tell me my interest rate?

No, and any tool that claims to without reviewing your business is guessing. Pricing depends on the product, your profile, the term, and underwriting, and we present it in writing after review.
